Another Monster Cutthroat From the Berry!

That's a 14 inch rainbow that fits easily in his mouth! No worries... the rainbow was released. No rainbows were harmed in the creation of this picture... :)
But the Cutthroat was eaten for dinner! He tasted wonderfully, with some lemon pepper and butter! This fish was caught in less than 10 feet of water, while ice fishing on April 14th.

Willard Bay

Josh's first Wiper on Willard bay!
Mine's bigger than yours!

And this is the first Smallmouth Bass to come out of Willard Bay! I didn't know willard had Smallmouth!

Hyrum Reservoir

On my first trip to Hyrum Reservoir, I fished for trout all day, with nothing to show for it. In desperation, I drove my boat into the back of a bay, and cast my spinner over a submerged bolder, and immediately caught this 2 1/2 pound large mouth bass!
Same fish as above....

Newton Tiger Muskie

This was a 32 inch, 6 pound tiger muskie caught at Newton Reservoir on 5/28/10.

Bear Lake (continued)

Bear Lake

Bear Lake, June 2010
This was my first fish of the day, a 21 inch Cutthroat Trout, weighing in at 5 pounds!
Then I decided to move deeper, where I caught this beautiful Lake Trout in over 100 feet of water! He was hiding way down at the bottom, but someone should have informed him that he can run, but he can't hide!

These first two fish measured 27 and 28 inches, and weighed 8 and 9 pounds! My largest trout ever... until.....

I caught this 30 inch, 10 pound lake trout a few hours later! Lake trout are awesome!

Here's a closer image of the same fish, displaying the Tiger Muskie's razor sharp teeth.

Tiger Muskie, tape two.

Tiger Muskie swimmin' around.

Willard Bay

Willard Bay Wiper,
This is a Wiper, which is a cross breed between a white bass, and a striper. This one was over 20 inches long, and weighed over 4 pounds.

While trying to catch either Walleye or Wiper, we caught this beautiful Smallmouth Bass. I didn't know that Willard Bay had Smallmouth Bass in it, but as you can see, I was pleasantly surprised! This smally weighed in at 4 pounds, and was over 18 inches long!

19 inch Walleye

Tiger Infested Waters

This was my first trip to Tiger infested waters! Newton Reservoir is one of 4 bodies of water in Utah that has Tiger Muskie. I went to Newton Reservoir on July 4th, in hopes to catch Largemouth Bass, and maybe an occasional Tiger Muskie, but I left that day having caught 3 Tiger Muskie, and not a single Largemouth! Since the Tiger Muskie are a much larger fish and may be considered by some to be a once in a life time catch, lets just say that I wasn't disappointed to have caught 3 of them. This one weighed over 10 pounds, and was probably between 30 and 35 inches long. I caught one which was probably over 20 pounds, but it managed to spit the hook right as I was about to net the fish.
